Ta-da! My finished shawl kit for Christmas 2020 is the absolutely gorgeous “Treasures from the Forest Path Shawl” by Patricia Anne Fortune of Knitography Farm..
Patricia is a shepherd and textile artist living on a remote farm in Norway… she has written a beautifully simple pattern for this rustic shawl, an adventure for beginner knitters. You begin with squishy garter stitch before introducing a little lace motif, a pinecone, the treasure in the story, these slowly increase and before you know it, you have a whole row of pinecones. Such a satisfying knit and the pattern is written so clearly with every row explained.
For extra warmth and softness, I have knit the shawl in the new Lang Aymara, a worsted weight blend of alpaca, wool and plant based, tencel fibre. I currently have 7 colours to choose from, Old Gold, Pink, Blue, Light Teal and Grey, Silver grey and Fawn.
The kit includes 5 balls of yarn, the pattern, a 5mm circular needle and either a gift box, or Hoop project bag..
