Emma, the design force behind Ann’s Orchard, is never afraid to try new materials and techniques for her cross stitch designs.. These kits use perforated paper for her take on Victorian entomology specimens and they make incredible faux taxidermy.
Stitched in embroidery threads on perforated paper the finished butterflies are cut out and may be mounted in a simple black box frame or suspended on wires to give the impression of flying.
The kit contains all you need to stitch your butterfly: Full colour instructions and charts, 14count perforated cross stitch paper, Anchor stranded embroidery thread, John James needle, black antennae, white backing card.
You will also need: Strong glue, a craft knife and scissors
The finished Peacock butterfly measures approximately 12cm x 9cm.
