Aptly named, the Perfect Pocket Shawl is the perfect crochet project for 2020… a cosy shawl to wrap yourself up in with nice big pockets to keep all the essentials we need at the moment…
Using Aran weight yarn this is easy to crochet on a large hook… the pattern suggests 9/10mm… we used an 8/9mm, so check your tension.
Written in US terminology, this shawl is crocheted in UK Htr and UK Tr and Wrapped Stitches, otherwise known as UK post trebles…
I’m really pleased to have found a fantastic and great value yarn for you to crochet this shawl..
We are using Hjertegarn, a Danish yarn brand that offers good value, natural fibres at reasonable prices… This yarn is Lima, a 100% soft wool from South America in an Aran weight. You will need a pack of 10 balls – a bargain at £28.50.
There is a choice of 7 natural colours … I used Teddy, but there are various shades of grey and brown as well as ecru to choose from.
The pattern is available on Ravelry.com and depending on the exchange rate is approx $6 / £4.75

Please email me at [email protected] if you would like me to purchase the pattern through the Ravelry in store scheme and print it on your behalf.
Vanessa’s Tips : Check your tension… I recommend an 8 or 9mm hook. You want a nice open, squidgy texture..
After hooking the shawl and pockets we had 45g of yarn left. I divided this in two to work out how much yarn per side for the tassels. To give you an idea, my tassels are 12cm long and I have 28 on each side.
